Hearth tax
The published version (Dwelly's National Records I (1916), with index) of the 1664-5 Hearth Tax returns for Somerset were reviewed by Ian Hall. There are only three Hockey references throughout the county, all about 5-10 miles northeast of Yeovil, although I've yet to check whether the Montacute returns survived and were included. In Catsack Hundred, a Stephen Hockey is listed, and also a Widow Hockey in Weston Bampfield. In Norton Ferris Hundred, Robert Hockey is listed in Cuckington.
