closely at James and Mary’s child, James Sayer (bap.1712), he would appear to

It would be
appropriate at this point to refer back to William Sayer (1711/12). He married
Hannah, and is referred to in the Hutton Rudby memorial inscriptions of 1773,
alongside the later interred James and William Sayer, also as `of Middleton
Mill', Their common name and residence suggests that William was a close
relative and might well have been their uncle. He has therefore been tentatively
linked to this family as such. Again,
Kirby Sigston could possibly have been his birthplace.
