If you are interested in registering your opposition to the continued expansion of Heathrow, here are a range of suggestions.

We hope to add further suggestions and materials to this page as the campaign progresses.

1 Sign the online petition sponsored by stopheathrowexpansion.com, a website created by HACAN ClearSkies
Virgin Atlantic (who support expansion) and the Evening Standard were also undertaking their own online polls, but both have now been terminated
You can also sign online petitions to ban the advertising of flights (closes 29 Mar) or against cheap flights (closes 19 Apr)

2 Send a 'Say NO' card to Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State for Transport.
Pre-printed postcards are available through AirportWatch (e-mail sarah@airportwatch.org.uk or call 01372 722341)

3 Advertise the campaign via a poster (colour) in your home, office or car. New style CRASH posters are available here.

4 Help deliver some leaflets to alert your local area to the issues

5 Write to as many MP's as possible, outlining your opposition and requesting their views and voting intentions.
Some suggestions for themes and arguments which you might like to include in any correspondence are included here, and our main factsheet is here.
An initial list of suggested correspondents is included below, along with some e-mail contact details :
Transport Department  Ruth Kelly (Secretary of State for Transport), Theresa Villiers (Shadow Transport Secretary), Norman Baker (LibDem)
Transport Select Committee Gwyneth Dunwoody (Chair), all other members listed here
Environment Department Hilary Benn (Secretary of State for Environment), Peter Ainsworth (Shadow Environment Secretary), Steve Webb (LibDem)
Health Department Alan Johnson (Secretary of State for Health), Andrew Lansley (Shadow Health Secretary), Norman Lamb (LibDem)
Local politicians Andrew Slaughter (MP, Ealing, Acton & Shepherd's Bush), Angie Bray (Conservative candidate), Ann Keen (MP, Brentford & Isleworth)
Overall cost and consultation process Gordon Brown, David Cameron (C) , Nick Clegg (LD); Conservative Party Policy : Oliver Letwin
Exchequer Alistair Darling, George Osborne (C), Vince Cable (LD); Business : John Hutton, Alan Duncan (C), Sarah Teather (LD)
Local Government Hazel Blears, Eric Pickles (C), Julia Goldsworthy (LD); Olympics and London : Tessa Jowell
Children, Schools and Families Ed Balls, Michael Gove (C), David Laws (LD)
David Bailey has created a website www.StopRunWay3.org which copies a single e-mail to 115 recipients : MP's, Councillors, the DTI, and various media outlets (newspapers, websites etc). You might like to consider this for a 'quick hit' if you don't have time to send dedicated correspondence, but there is probably a risk that the lack of specific focus means that some of these e-mails are ignored.

6 Write to national and local newspapers - our factsheet on campaigning through other channels is here.

7 Talk to your friends and neighbours about the issue, and encourage them to register here and join in (a possible e-mail you could use is included here)
